Flying in for a ceremony: a practical guide for international guests

A good number of the people I guide fly in for this. That raises practical questions someone just driving over from nearby doesn’t have: where do I land, where do I stay, and how do I plan the days around it?

Schiphol as a starting point

The location is conveniently close to Schiphol, which means you don’t have to travel far across the country right after a long flight. That saves fatigue on a day you’d rather start calmly. I also work with guests from across the wider Randstad region, so a central position relative to Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht is the starting point either way.

How to plan the days around it

Don’t plan to travel in and out on the same day as the ceremony itself. Ideally arrive the evening before, so you start rested, and also build in at least one quiet day afterward before flying home. A ceremony asks for landing, not for taking off again immediately.

Where to stay

There are plenty of options around Schiphol and across the Randstad, from simple hotels to quieter bed and breakfasts. I’m happy to offer suggestions during the intake that fit what you’re looking for: close to the location, or somewhere further out in a calmer setting for your integration day.

What else I’d advise

Don’t book a tight connecting flight right after the ceremony. Give yourself room to breathe. And especially as an international guest, take a moment beforehand to read about the location itself and what to expect, so there are no surprises on the day itself.

Consider an intake conversation.

A psilocybin truffle ceremony is not for everyone. But if you've made it here, it may be worth exploring.
